Functional surfaces are essential for new products and efficient technologies. By means of our modern coating plants we can modify the features of the surfaces of your products with the help of standard methods of the layer technology specifically aimed at the requirements of the applications. For this, we offer you the following layer systems:

Hard-material layers:
e.g. c-BN, TiN, TiC (reactive plasma sputter), diamondlike carbon layers (DLC) and SiC (PECVD)

Layers reducing friction:
e.g. Metal doped a-C:H layers (PECVD)

Anti-adhesive-layers:
Surfaces with defined surface energy on the basis of amorphous carbon layers (a-C:H und a-SiC:H) or SiC and Si3N4 (PECVD)

Sensor-functional layers:
e.g. Pd and Pd-alloys, Pt, Ni, Au, Ag, SnO2, CuO Functional layers based on Carbon nano-tube (CNT)

Electrically functional layers:
Galvanic gold layers, TiN-layers (Plasma sputtering) Carbon-based layers as well as Si3N4:TiN layers with defined conductivity

Barrier layers:
Al2O3, SiO2, Si3N4 (reactive plasmasputtering)

Biocompatible surfaces:
Based on DLC or SiC, amorphous carbon based layers being completely biologically compatible

Antibacterial surfaces:
Metal-containing DLC layers (antibacterial effect by Ag or Cu), especially on flexible substrates such as plastic parts, hoses, catheters)

Layers on flexible substrates:
adapted elastic features by gradient layers Si/SiC/DLC or ultra-thin layer systems, strain reduction of DLC layers by SiOx doping
